Privacy policy

Wara Al Tareeq helps visitors discover places and plan trips in Syria. Your itinerary and custom stops are stored in your browser on your device. When you view the trip map, your browser loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap; the itinerary itself is not sent to them. We receive only information that you deliberately submit through a suggestion form.

Place and event suggestions

When you suggest a place or event, we store the details you provide, the source link for an event and the submission time to review it. We do not receive your itinerary. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a suggestion.

Driving routes

If the route calculation feature is enabled and you request a calculation, our server sends only the coordinates of the two published stops to Google Maps Platform to obtain distance and estimated driving time. We do not send your full itinerary or custom stop details. Google processes this request under its Privacy Policy. The result is displayed with Google Maps attribution. You can also open a route directly in Google Maps, which is then governed by Google's own terms.

Storage and contact

Suggestions are retained for editorial review. To ask about a suggestion you submitted, use the site's suggestion form and identify the place and area. Browser storage can be cleared in your browser settings.
